Post-conference excursion to Aeres
If you are planning to leave the conference venue on Thursday for Schiphol, why not consider joining our bus and visiting Aeres in Dronten on your way to the airport? Aeres University of Applied Sciences welcomes you to enjoy a pleasant short-stay, complete with lunch and a guided tour, making this post-conference tour not only enjoyable but also financially attractive. We will visit Aeres Farms. This experimental farm and learning facility has approximately 340 hectares of land and focuses on dairy farming, both conventional and organic, arable farming, pigs, poultry, sheep and horses. The “Weidebedrijf”, part of Aeres Farms, focuses on maximum grazing and milk from grass. While you are shown around Aeres Farms and the “Weidebedrijf”, we will discuss challenges and opportunities of Dutch dairy farming in practice.
You can expect to arrive at Schiphol Airport (or Schiphol railway station) in the late afternoon, at approximately 4:30 PM.

The Post-conference tour
The Post-conference tour will start on Thursday at 11.00 a.m. from Leeuwarden. The first stop will be at Aeres Farms. From there, we will continue our travel to the South.
You will have the chance to get an idea of the beautiful, burgundy and very hospitable province of Flanders (Belgium). Via the South of the Netherlands with a short- stay in the city of Breda, we will take you to the ILVO, to an inspiring Belgian farm with a quality mark (and lots of grass ;-), and the beautiful bustling historic city of Ghent.
On Saturday we will go back to the North in the direction of Schiphol Airport (or, you could decide to take the train from Ghent to Brussels Airport, app. 40 minutes journey and leave from Brussels Airport Zaventem).
On the way to Schiphol we will make two stops to visit a Dutch grazing dairy farm as well as a cheese experience museum where you can try and learn everything about Dutch Gouda cheese. And, of course, don’t forget to try Dutch delicious syrup waffles….
We expect to arrive at Schiphol around five o’clock (15/6).
